VII Conferencia Ibérica de Primatología.

Empatía, Educación y Conservación: Primates en un Mundo Global.

Este 2019 el evento tuvo lugar en Lisboa y hasta allí se desplazó nuestro equipo de la Unidad de Investigación así como algunos de los estudiantes del Máster en Primatología de la Fundació Universitat de Girona y Fundació MONA (http://masterprimatologiaudg.com). 

Las ponencias fueron muy interesantes y enriquecedoras, evidenciando un buen “nivel de salud” de la primatología ibérica. Como siempre se crearon nuevos lazos y futuras colaboraciones con el fin de seguir aprendiendo sobre nuestra familia evolutiva y trabajando por su conservación y bienestar. Y además volvimos con una gran recompensa a nuestro trabajo: conseguimos 4 de los 5 posibles premios que se entregaban:

– Mejor comunicación oral: Dietmar Crailsheim et al. –Social grooming networks of former pet and entertainment chimpanzees are shaped by previous experiences and alterations of group composition

– Mejor comunicación en póster: Naomi Anderson et al – What can we learn about dominance and reconciliation in chimpanzees?

– Mención especial a mejor comunicación en póster: Iria G. Quiroga et al. Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Saimiri cassiquiarensis in the Tamandua Ecological Reserve (Ecuador)

– Premio a la mejor fotografía en Primatología de Campo: Martí Masip.

Les ponències van ser molt interessants i enriquidores, evidenciant un bon “nivell de salut” de la primatologia ibèrica. Com sempre es van crear nous llaços i futures col·laboracions per tal de seguir aprenent sobre la nostra família evolutiva i treballant per la seva conservació i benestar. I a més vam tornar amb una gran recompensa al nostre treball: vam aconseguir 4 dels 5 possibles premis que es lliuraven:

– Millor comunicació oral: Dietmar Crailsheim et al. –Social grooming networks of former pet and entertainment chimpanzees are shaped by previous experiences and alterations of group composition

– Millor comunicació en pòster: Naomi Anderson et al – What can we learn about dominance and reconciliation in chimpanzees?

– Menció especial a millor comunicació en pòster: Iria G. Quiroga et al. Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Saimiri cassiquiarensis in the Tamandua Ecological Reserve (Ecuador)

– Premi a la millor fotografia en Primatologia de Camp: Martí Masip.

*els projectes que han donat lloc a aquests resultats han rebut el recolzament de “La Caixa” (EMCOBA Project), segons l’acord LCF/PR/PR17/11120020 i de la Generalitat de Catalunya AGAUR (2017 SGR-1040).

Empathy, Education and Conservation: Primates in a shared world

This year the event took place in Lisbon and this is where our Research team flew, along with some of the students of the Masters in Primatology of Fundació Universitat de Girona and Fundació MONA (http://masterprimatologiaudg.com).

The presentations were very interesting and enriching, showing a good “level of health” of Iberian Primatology. As always, new bonds and future collaborations were created in order to continue learning about our evolutionary family and working for their conservation and well-being. And we came back with a great reward for our work: winning 4 of the 5 awards were handed out:

– Best oral communication: Dietmar Crailsheim et al. –Social grooming networks of former pet and entertainment chimpanzees are shaped by previous experiences and alterations of group composition

– Best poster communication: Naomi Anderson et al – What can we learn About Dominance and reconciliation in chimpanzees?

– Special mention for best poster communication: Iria G. Quiroga et al. Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Saimiri cassiquiarensis in the Tamandua Ecological Reserve (Ecuador)

– Prize for the best field photography in Primatology: Martí Masip.
